Pipeline Services

Pipeline Pre-Commissioning Services

EnerMech's Pipelines Group offers solutions to our clients' individual needs. Our personnel track record of innovation and aligned thinking offers an unrivalled opportunity to work together to remove risk and reduce time, cost and effort, whilst taking a proactive approach to engineering and looking beyond the project brief for solutions and risk mitigation.
With a high level of focus on Project Management EnerMech offers a full range of pre-commissioning services for pipeline installation and construction companies and Operators looking for reliability, safety and quality.
Our pre-commissioning capabilities include:
  • Subsea Flooding and Testing using remote technologies.
  • Pipeline Cleaning - using chemical or mechanical methods
  • Conventional flooding and Gauging.
  • Pressure testing - multiple techniques, using water, air or nitrogen.
  • Dewatering - after hydrostatic testing, using liquid and membrane nitrogen or air.
  • Drying - using chemicals, super dry air, nitrogen or vacuum technology.
  • Purging - using cryogenic or membrane nitrogen to purge the pipeline prior to commissioning, capping or abandonment.
  • Pipeline Decommissioning.

Key Technologies

RFC (Remote Flooding Console) and STP (Subsea Test Pump)

EnerMech's latest generation of remote flooding consoles utilise proven technology, developed at EnerMech by the original inventors of subsea flooding and testing equipment, to flood and test subsea pipelines down to 3000 metres plus water depth.
RFC-19The RFC uses available seawater pressure outside the pipe as a source of power and water to flood and pig the lines whilst still meeting the desired filtration and chemical protection specifications. The unit filters, chemically doses, controls the flow and monitors flooding operations without the need for a vessel in attendance. The self-contained unit can be left for extended periods on the sea bed. Pressure testing is completed by using ROV power to drive the STP. This technique offers significant schedule and cost savings when compared with traditional vessel based techniques.
Features
  • Removal of downline failure risk, no connection needed to surface vessel
  • Reduced vessel size, space, crew and lower project costs
  • Allows vessel to do other work during flooding operations
  • Reduced thermal stabilisation for hydrotest due to use of seabed water
  • The STP Pump unit can be skid connected to any ROV or mounted on the RFC
  • Allows full ROV hydraulic power to Test Pump to maximise performance (no transfer skid)
  • No risk of ROV hydraulics contamination during operations
  • Range of flows and pressures up to 45 litres/minute, 700 Barg based on a 110 lit/min at 210 bar supply ROV hydraulic supply
